Imaginarius Creation Centre

Art and Public Space

Imaginarius Creation Centre – Art and Public Space (ICC), Santa Maria da Feira´s facility for artistic support, aims to strenghten local and regional creative ecosystem, fostering cultural, educational, social, economic and touristic development.

The Imaginarius Creation Centre runs three intervention domains: Artist residency Programme, Community Art Projects and Capacity Building and Internationalization.

ICC is a workplace for artistic creation, strongly committed with art residencies. Besides this place, ICC has two complementary spaces: Cineteatro António Lamoso (the municipality theatre and concert venue) and a warehouse to support arts and crafts.

ICC Community

Imaginarius Creation Centre is supported by a community of creators, producers, artists, technicians, teachers, students and researchers, professional and self-taught, from the local to the international level – the Imaginarius CC Community.

The Community has access to exclusive meetings and networking activities, information and support for creation and mobility.
If you want to be part of it, please register in the form.

ICC has a great focus on artist residencies, either to the intervention in public space or to indoor presentations. In this scope, it hosts projects of creation, experimentation, reflection and intervention in performative arts, visual arts, media arts, design, architecture, photography, among others.

In the scope of ICC mission, preference is given to those projects harnessing endogenous resources and those including complementary actions for local community (open talks, workshops, etc.)
For the 2017/2018 season, artist residencies will have two phases:

For the first call, with a local scope, the application period runs from October 9 to November 9, 2017. The results are announced on the 17th of November. Projects are hosted in ICC (for a 30 days maximum period), between December 4, 2017, and February 28, 2018.

For the second call, with a national and international scope, the application period runs from January 16 to March 16, 2018. The results are announced on the 9th of April. Projects are hosted in ICC (for a maximum period of 30 days), between June 1 and Decembre 21, 2018.

For the public space intervention, ICC has a close connection with Imaginarius – International Street Theatre Festival, hosting artist residencies from the event calls. Projects interested in presenting performances during the Festival must sign up for those specific calls. For further information please check

If you want to receive further information about ICC calls and other activities, please sign our form at the “ICC Community” label.
